Riviera Nayarit Hotels
Our Opinion of Allegro Nuevo Vallarta
The first impression of the Allegro Nuevo Vallarta may seemed kind of tacky, old, and run down. But upon further inspection, you'll find that the atmosphere at this hotel is authentically Mexican and that the rooms are clean, comfy and cozy. Many repeat clients love the hotel because the facilities are up to standard, the beach is amazing and the staff are the best! In the lobby, an entire wall is filled with letters from guests, saying what a great time they had and that they would return. There's no doubt about it, regardless of how old this hotel is, it never fails to please its guests.

Allegro Nuevo Vallarta Hotel Reviews

"Granola at buffet left uncovered. Birds actually sitting in it. Yuk!!! .. Very slow at reception upon arrival. Vacation plan personal very aggressive; especially on arrival before we even got our rooms... Dining room personal very pleasant and efficient. Rooms not elaborate but OK. Beach good. Not unhappy with the location; close to the city."

"The Allegro Nuevo Vallarta is a well run resort with courteous friendly staff. The room that I recieved was very small and run down with a shower and no bath. The food was far from spectacular during breakfast with few selections. Lunch was a little better but still lacking in selection focusing on the cheaper foods, pasta, bread ect. Dinner was much better. The Allegro did make up its shortcommings with their excellent service as well as their nightly entertainment that was 1st class."

"The rooms need major upgrading...really bad moldy/musty smell and our bathroom had a leak in the ceiling with mold around the light fixture, the curtains wouldn't pull open, the phone would work when it would want and the TV too...nonetheless we changed rooms but still very basic. The beds were YES VERY HARD...but hey they all are in Mexico! The resort itself is small, nice and simple...beach ok and there are tons of loungers by the pool and palapas by the beach that you didn't have to fight for one... The staff, the food, and the grounds were the BEST at Allegro...def not a 4 star room quality...I would rate the rooms a 2 at best and the resort itself, staff and food a good 3.5...def a good value for the buck and would be back if I got another 2 for 1 deal again...but other than that needs major renos to keep competitive with other 3.5 and 4 star resorts."

"This resort is clean and small, with an excellent beach for Puerto Vallarta standards. The hotel rooms were average and the walls were very thin you could hear everything outside the window, door, through the walls etc... The beds were fairly hard but not too bad. The hotel is usually filled with about 50% or more of locals however this is not unusual for resorts in Puerto Vallarta. It is a family based resort with lots of kids, however this was not terrible. The Resort staff was EXCELLENT! Led by the resort manager Jesus A. He applauds and publically recognizes his staff and treats them very well (nice to see). The food was good we ate at the buffet every night so that must say something. THE WORST part was the TIME-SHARE PEOPLE in the lobby area, we could not use the elevator as they would not stop bugging us, we disliked this very much. We had to use the stairs in the back of the hotel to get away from them."

"Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is becoming a little worn around the edges, definitely no more than a 3 star. The food was tasty and every night there was a different theme. Not a huge selection but I always found something nice to eat. Shows were good (excellent dancers)although the ampitheatre was a little run down. The beach was always kept clean, no rocks or seaweed, the water was nice and warm although way too cloudy for snorkeling. There were a couple of little markets right on the beach with a fairly reasonable selection of goods, the silver prices were very reasonable on the beach as opposed to the stores in town. Tennis lessons are provided free of charge if you can take the heat and humidity. Lots of other activities going on if your need to be entertained. All in all a nice hotel but it could do with a makeover. The staff and the location make up for the building's shortfalls."

"This is a great family hotel. The beach was lovely. The rooms though older were very clean and the air conditioning was great. The nicest part of this resort was the staff. Everyone from the front desk to the entertainment crew, waiters, greeters, security crew were helpful and fun to be around. The only down side was that there were so many people covered in sun screen going in and out of the pool and so many kids in the pool that it was not as clean or clear as it should be. The food in all restaurants was good. Staff oversee the buffet and keep it well stocked. I would say all in all that this was a great place to bring your children and we felt very safe there. Thanks for a great vacation! "

"Excellent value. Great place for those who don't want to be overwhelmed by large resorts. By the end of our vacation, it was nice to recognize and be recognized by staff and other guests alike. The services offered at this resort are super, the beach is wonderful and one can walk for miles. The room is nice - not 5*, but not advertised as such - clean, friendly and all we needed. Food - exceptional. Hotel itself is a time share hotel but when we indicated on our first morning that we were not interested, we were not bothered. The bars were friendly, not stingy with the alcohol. Entertainment staff works long hours to keep the guests entertained. Would go back to this resort in a heartbeat."
